15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Spirit-filled teacher, great visionary, loving and dedicated pastor are all words that adequately describe this great man of God, Pastor Leland. G. Dandridge. Pastor Dandridge, because of his AGAPE love and compassion that he shows toward each member is the Pastor and founder of East Side Baptist church in Austin, TX. For God said in Jeremiah 3:15 I will give you pastors according to my heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Pastor Dandridge has a heart for God and he committed to doing the will of God. Under the direction and leadership, East Side has grown spiritually, physically, and financially, touching the lives of our members and our community. Pastor Dandridge is extremely grateful to God for blessing this great union of pastor and church for over 17 years.

In 1991, God gave Pastor Dandridge a vision not just building a church, but a Complex of Hope, this started with a congregation of a faithful few that met in a room of the Fireman's Hall building. Each Sunday morning the room was transformed into a space for Sunday School and Morning Worship. In November 1992, as our membership grew we moved to 7109 Highway 290 East. In June 1997, we moved again to our current home at 2400 Northeast Drive .  

There are three phases of development for the Complex of Hope: Spiritual Ministries, Capital Stewardship Campaign and Project Management. Pastor Dandridge has taught the key to any established church in fulfilling the Great Commission is Spiritual Ministries. We are commanded to "go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing...teaching them to observe all things" Matthew 28:18-19. Under the anointing of Pastor Dandridge we have established 38 ministries which offer excellent opportunities for God's work and will to flourish. Instrumental in achieving this commandment, we must rely on the resources of God. We are instructed in Malachi 3:10 that God promises to pour out for us, such a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive, if we bring all the tithes and offerings to the storehouse. With this promise we are actively pursing a Capital Stewardship Campaign. Finally a Project Management team is essential in assuring the building of the Complex of Hope is done decently and in order, 1Corinthians 14:40 "Let all things be done decently and in order.
